promise of goldenrod

at work
in the kitchen
I look out the window
and rest in the sight
of goldenrod by the road

after brilliant colors
of spring and summer

But he knoweth

the way that I take:

when he hath tried me,

I shall come forth as gold.

Job 23:10 (KJV)

I can’t remember

I can’t remember another year when the lilacs were this plentiful and long-lasting.  May I always remember this spring.  The root systems of these old bushes must be large now.  Perhaps I grew some deeper roots too, during the years when I couldn’t write as much.  Beauty and faith sustain.
