Flowers, Poems, Posts

I took this photo on July 2, 2018. Previous owners planted our peonies years ago. The peonies are just beginning to grow again this year.

In August 2018, I posted a small collection of my haiku:
Haiku For The Seasons.

My post could become a small printed chapbook some day, with a few photos and credits. Perhaps a book to send someone with a card.

I have mentioned Charlotte Digregorio’s Writer’s Blog. Charlotte publishes poems by many poets, along with other content.

Please see Charlotte’s recent post from April 27, 2019 at her blog: Exhibit Travels Again: Haiku & Senryu.

Review notes

I have reached January 2018, with my review. WordPress inspired me, with their “Post Milestone” in January of this year. So soon I will complete my review and 1,000 Posts series. Thank you. I have learned a lot through this review. I see how I could revise some old poems, as I also remember the moment and emotions at the time. And I see some growth! Next post will continue with my January 2018 archive. I began this site in April 2012, and the encouragement of many people is reflected and supported here.

I often reprint poems in new ways. For example, I may see over time that poems form a small collection, and one of my photos may also go well with the post.

This was my note from WordPress, in my notifications. I would have missed this achievement otherwise. They are good teachers and editors!

“Congratulations on writing 1000 posts on Haiku Art Site!”

Creative Notes

Lovingkindness is a post from yesterday at our site, Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin. The post shares verses from the Psalms with this word.

As I learn from many others, one of the blessings of writing poetry is the way we focus on each word. If there are fewer words, what are the best words?

On Sunday, I was praying the Psalms, and the word lovingkindness was given, and I thought, “What a beautiful word, and hope to include the word in a poem.”

Nature is also a source of inspiration. My poems usually are given as I read and pay attention to daily life. My overall goal is to offer hope. Everyone has a story, and I have needed to begin again a few times. Always beauty, always hope. Creativity with blogs works so well for me.

This tanka is from my site, Poems From Psalms and Nature.

The Daily Post Photo Challenges were good teachers, for new photos and collections of photos. Please see The Daily Post for lots of good content. It is interesting – as I need to work online for other reasons, I realize how much I have learned from WordPress. And I learn more all the time.
