Daily Prompt: Blossom

each flower
a star for a time
daylilies

where once
I mourned
irises

Blossom

This is a poem from late September 2015:

Their Flowers Past

their flowers past
for a time and
as I return home
from the grocery store
the beauty of the plants
reaches my soul
for I too have kept
faith to flower
as I can

and grateful
to rest again
for a time

Grateful for the seasons,

I took the photo of the forget-me-nots yesterday.  Books are some of my best friends.  I treasure books I have received as gifts, and I enjoy buying used books at libraries and thrift stores.  This week I bought books that had been discarded, though originally donated in memory of someone.  I thought, “These books have found a new home.”  So many stories with blogs and books!

Peonies are growing with daylilies.

The Daily Post One-Word Prompt: Collaboration

Collaboration – My volunteer work in education at The Haiku Foundation is collaboration.  The haiku lessons I write reflect my years of teaching and use their excellent resources.  Jim Kacian is the editor.  The Haiku Foundation is non-profit.

For new readers here, these are two examples of lessons I wrote for The Lessons for All Ages category:

Using Poems from the EarthRise Haiku Collaboration

Using Poems from Book of the Week

The work of many teachers, scholars, and poets is featured on the Education Resources page.
