Three Tanka By Carol Purington

A dusty poem
held to the shaft of attic light –
she had cousins
in my hometown,
Emily Dickinson

Slow-falling snowflakes –
from dusty attic boxes
a star for the tree,
faded stockings to be stuffed
with an orange and love

First moon
hanging pale and curved –
twilight
serene as the faith that will bloom
far into the new year
