haiku from road of stone by jim kacian

blackwater
a kayak’s prow splits
mountains

abandoned monastery
the doors open
inward

a stone church
the same gray
as the graves

the cold night
comes out of the stone
all morning

the sound of water
rushing over stones
remembering
